After tucking in our children, arming the home alarm system and settling in for the night, my wife realized she may not have locked the downstairs door. Yes, we have an alarm but if the door is locked then the bad guys could get in and have a head start, before the alarm even sounded!
We needed the reassurance that the doors were not only closed but the deadbolts were securely locked. The alarmed deadbolt devices our security service provider offered were hundreds of dollars and required an installer to add them to our system.
